GoodLeap’s Bold $1.5B Move to Expand Residential Solar Access

GoodLeap, a leading sustainable energy financing company, has partnered with Tactical Infrastructure Partners (TIP) to acquire $1.5 billion in residential solar and storage products. Supported by debt financing from ATLAS SP Partners, this collaboration will enhance GoodLeap’s existing lease and power purchase programs, offering homeowners flexible financing options for solar and storage installations. With this new funding, GoodLeap plans to expand its offerings across 12 states, meeting the growing demand for affordable and accessible solar solutions.

From our perspective, GoodLeap’s comprehensive financing solutions, backed by a significant investment, offers a valuable model for solar providers. The move underscores the importance of strategic financing partnerships to support the residential market growth and reduce barriers for homeowners seeking sustainable energy solutions. This approach sets a new industry standard by improving accessibility, not just through lower technology costs but also by offering flexible, customer-tailored financing options.

For solar providers, the partnership highlights the value of creative thinking in scaling solar products, leveraging partnerships, and offering diverse financing solutions. This will encourage collaborations between technology developers, financiers, and installers; promote a more competitive and dynamic market; and accelerate the adoption of advanced solar technologies and further reduce costs.
